Usually, to update Windows 8 apps (Metro apps), just open the Windows Store from the Start screen and click on the “Updates” link to see which apps needs an update. However, if an app not offered update, but you know it has an update (for example, the recent update to the in-built People App, Mail and Calendar App) you can force update the app.
