When you click a new tab in Firefox, usually it opens a blank, untitled page. If you want it to open to your home page, for example to Google, here is how you can do that with a simple Firefox extension My Homepage.
After installing the add-on, if your Home Page is Google or any other search engine, you do not have to make an extra click as it does not takes away the required focus.
However, in some situations, you may want not to load the homepage into the new Tab. In that case uses the shortcut key CTRL+ALT+M to open the new tab without loading your Home Page. You can install the add-on from Mozilla.
