Adobe has released a new, feature rich, more secure PDF reader (Adobe Reader X) with protected mode. Protected mode (for Windows) helps users to open any PDF files without fear inside a secured sandboxing layer. Protected mode is enabled by default. In this mode, malicious PDF documents can’t launch arbitrary executable files or write to system directories or the Windows Registry.
Besides the standard PDF reader features, Adobe Reader X can also open and interact with all types of PDF contents, including forms and multimedia.
