According to a recent report by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), which aims to protect privacy and freedom of speech online, only the configuration and version information of a browser are sufficient to identify a user.
By using the advanced fingerprinting technique, websites can harvest information form a browser’s header as well as its JavaScript and flash plug-ins, even with cookies deleted or disabled.
Though almost all browsers are uniquely fingerprintable, using the website Panopticlick users can test their own browsers to see how much information they leak.
