It uses a desktop application called Norton Safety Minder for monitoring the activities of each child and is available free download for Windows and Mac. Currently the service in beta stage and requires an online Norton Account to use. The registration is free (until beta).
Unlike other parental control solutions, this online service alert you by email or text messages when your child reached their time limits, visited a blocked website or tried to add an unknown stranger for chatting.
This helps you to take necessary measures including discussion with them about their online activities and better understanding about their intent with visiting specific sites or wanting to spend more time online. Moreover, the Norton Online Family Activity page provides real-time reports on the Internet activities of your children.
